So I can’t wait…I am leaving work in 10 mins for a 3 day weekend. There’s nothing better then not coming in to work on a Monday!
I checked out a graduate program I liked yesterday at NYU and while I love the program I am kinda disappointed. The program itself seems great but 3/4 of the classes are online which sucks. When I am paying $5,000 a class, I don’t want to do it for an online course. So now, I think I need to sit down and re-evaluate my options because there is no way I am paying $60,000 for a program that is 90% online.

So the game I have been waiting for is now in open beta! I pre-ordered Star Trek Online so I am in! I got to play it a little bit last night and here are my first impressions…..
Graphics - Amazing! my character looks exactly like something you’d see when watching a show. The actual environments look real even on my crappy old PC.
Gameplay – This is where it gets a little buggy when you’re doing space combat. As soon as you get in range of 2 or more objects, even if they are far away from each other, they will link and attack you which I don’t think is intended. Hopefully they will fix the bug for retail. Controlling the ship is also a bit cumbersome. It feels like it takes forever to turn and get to your desired destination if warp is on cooldown. The enemy NPCs so far don’t pose much of a challenge….you just keep shooting them…they don’t move fast.
Overall Impression - This game could be great when it hits retail if they work out the kinks and make movement/combat smoother. Below are some awesome screenshots too!!! This is what I mean by awesome graphics!
